Randall Museum Friends was founded in 1954 as the "Auxiliary of the Josephine D. Randall
Junior Museum." Later the name was shortened to the "Randall Museum Society,"
and in the mid-1990's the group was renamed a third time to become "Randall Museum
Friends." The name evolved over the years, but the goals of the organization
remain unchanged. It is the mission of the Randall Museum Friends to support the
Randall Museum by providing strategic private-sector leadership, fundraising, and administration
for museum programs.
Today, Randall Museum Friends is a private, non-profit organization with a broad base of
public support, a fast-growing membership, and twenty volunteer Board members. As always,
the goal of the Randall Museum Friends is to make a real and lasting contribution to the Randall
Museum. You are invited to join hundreds of other San Francisco families in supporting
Randall Museum Friends. Your tax-deductible membership in Randall Museum Friends will
help the Museum realize its highest potential, for the benefit of San Francisco children and
families like yours.
