Please indicate your school district/organization type. Field trips are offered free of charge to California public schools; see the bottom of this form for fees applied to all other groups.*

Please list ALL dates during the semester(s) checked above when you CANNOT come to the museum. Please do not assume that we have your school's or district's calendar. Include everything: holidays, spring/winter breaks, parent-teacher conferences, STAR testing, dates of other field trips, dates when you cannot get transportation, etc. Please list dates carefully; changes usually are not possible after reservations have been made.*
If you wish, you may list any PREFERRED dates or days of the week here. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Please remember that the museum is closed on Mondays.

You may submit a program request for up to 2 classes using this form. If you do so, we will do our best to schedule both classes on the same date (this could mean that one or both classes are not scheduled for their first choice of programs).  Except for Live Animal Presentations, it is not possible for 2 classes to have the same program on the same date.  If two or more teachers at your school would like to have the same program on different dates, please submit separate requests.

Please DO NOT combine two or more classes of more than 10 students for a single program (we do accept requests to combine 2 classes in the same or adjacent grades with 10 or fewer students per class). If three or more teachers wish to visit the museum, please submit this form again and note in the Comments field below if you wish to come on the same date or consecutive dates. The maximum we can accommodate on one day is four classes, two for Live Animal Presentations and two for other topics.

Please be aware that not all programs will be available on all dates or in all possible combinations; the more flexible you can be in your choice of programs and/or dates, the more likely we are to be able to satisfy your request.  It is not possible for two classes to have the same topic on the same date, with the exception of Live Animal Presentations.

Field Trip Fees

Our field trip programs are offered free of charge to all California public schools, thanks in part to a generous grant from the Silver Giving Foundation.

In order to offset increasing costs, we must ask all private and parochial schools, clubs, homeschool networks, and other groups to contribute a modest fee for each program.  The fee for each Live Animal Presentation is $30; all other programs listed below are $50.

Fees should be paid by check or money order, payable to Randall Museum, on the day of your visit.

If you are not affiliated with a public school but believe your situation merits special consideration, you may apply for a fee waiver by writing to fieldtrips@randallmuseum.org.  If you intend to do so, please make a note of it in the Comments or Special Requests field above.

Cancellation Policy

You will be informed by fax (or email, if your school does not have a fax) of your scheduled field trip date(s) and topic(s).  You are responsible for confirming your field trip reservation(s) according to the instructions on the fax.

If you must cancel a scheduled program, call 415-554-9604 or email fieldtrips@randallmuseum.org as soon as possible to allow another group to enjoy your program.  If you fail to notify us at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled visit, or if you do not respond to repeated attempts to confirm a scheduled program, your school will be billed a $75 no-show fee.  Please be aware that this includes last-minute cancellations due to rain or fallen-through transportation arrangements.  By submitting a field trip request, you agree to these policies.

Available Field Trip Topics

Please check carefully that the topic you are requesting is appropriate for your grade.  Many programs can be adapted for groups older than the listed age range only; email fieldtrips@randallmuseum.org for details. We can provide up to four programs per day total: two Live Animal Presentations and two other classes. Please make your selections with this in mind.

Please note that during Summer and Winter Breaks, we offer Live Animal Presentations only.
