In honor of our amazing exhibit, A-MAZE-ing Puzzles, we printed a page of riddles and puzzles in our Fall 2007 Classes and Activities Flyer. If you haven't seen the flyer yet and want to try the puzzles before you see the solutions, click here to download it as a PDF.
If you've tried the puzzles and want to check the solutions, scroll down to see them.
1. Connect all 9 of these dots using exactly 4 straight lines, without lifting your pencil. Each dot must be touched only once, and the lines must connect to each other. Can you do it?
Think outside the box!
2. Name a two-legged animal that can be seen in the Randall Museum Animal Exhibit every day, but doesn't live there at night. Humans
3. If it takes 5 snakes 5 minutes to catch 5 mice, how long does it take for 100 snakes to catch 100 mice? 5 minutes (assuming they don't get in each others' way!). Work it out this way: each snake takes 5 minutes to catch his or her mouse, so as long as there are equal numbers of snakes and mice, it will still take 5 minutes.
4. A woman has three daughters, and each of them has a brother. How many children does the woman have? Four. All of the daughters have the same brother.
5. Put these in order from heaviest to lightest: a ton of water, a ton of clay, a ton of feathers, and a ton of wood. They all weigh the same: one ton!
6. Word Search! How many Randall Museum-related words can you find?

7. Can you find your way out of the maze?
