Saturdays Are Special
Drop in Saturdays between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to create all kinds of art and science projects.
$3/child, $5 for an adult and child together. Kids under 8 must be with a paying adult. Members of the Randall Museum Friends and Arts Card holders receive a 2-for-1 discount. Sign up at the museum's front desk to participate; the last sign-ups are taken at 3:30.
June 7: Experience the art of gyotaku, Japanese for fish printing, with rubber fish.
June 14: Cut, glue, and create your own personal fabric flag in a myriad of textures and colors.
June 21: Today is the summer solstice: the longest day of the year. Mark the occasion by building and decorating a sundial for your yard, garden, or deck. Come early and observe the shortest noontime shadow of the year, listen to a FREE talk about what a solstice is, and observe the sun through special solar telescopes!
June 28: Boys and girls alike love to discover the magic of turning recycled paper into beads for necklaces and bracelets.
July 5: Use wood scrap and wire to make your own wooden trains.
July 12: Cut, fold, glue, and embellish to make a fantastic (scary or not) monster mask!
July 19: Sun, Wind, & Water Day - Special Event - 10 am-2pm
July 26: Wrap fabric around wood and wire to make dolls from your imagination, then decorate them with sequins, buttons, and trim.
August 2: Make a clay insect from air-drying clay and wire. Paint your creation with shiny acrylic paint.
August 9: Experience the magic of shaving cream and liquid watercolor as you make marbled paper greeting cards.
August 16: Put a feather in your cap! Make a wearable paper feathered cap using recycled paper bags.
August 23: Sculpt your own clay bird with feather wings and beaded eyes.
August 30: Talking heads! Make a puppet with a mouth and hands that move.
